IN CASTIGLIONE DELLE STIVIERE, MYNET IS CONNECTING ALL MUNICIPAL BUILDINGS AND SCHOOLS IN THE LOCAL AREA TO TRUE FIBER OPTICS

CASTIGLIONE DELLE STIVIERE (MANTOVA) – After the Belvedere district and the industrial area, the center of Castiglione delle Stiviere and its surrounding districts are about to be connected to Mynet's fiber optic network. In recent weeks, the leading telecommunications company in northern Italy has started the work to provide FTTH (Fiber To The Home) fiber optic connections, offering speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s in download for all municipal offices, including the Town Hall, Palazzo Meneghini (information point and civic hall), the municipal library, the local police station, the courthouse, the Lazzarini after-school facility, the municipal warehouse in Via Solferino, the theater, the small village of Ghisiola, and other locations in Via Ordanino and Viale Boschetti.

All school buildings are also included in the project, starting with the school on Via Maifreni, the Gozzolina district school, the two comprehensive institutes, Beschi Middle School, the kindergartens in Viale Europa, Via Botteghino, Gozzolina, and Grole, the branch of the high school on Via Zanardelli, and finally the gymnasium and school complex in Belvedere.

To complete Mynet’s cabling plan for Castiglione delle Stiviere, a capillary network of smart poles (about forty across the municipality) has been installed for video surveillance and free Wi-Fi, all connected to true fiber optic with speeds up to 1 Gbit/s.

The Mynet intervention, expected to finish by March 2022, mainly uses the existing public lighting infrastructure, along with new extensions currently being built by the municipal administration.

The districts of Gozzolina and Grole, partially completed in excavation, will soon see the start of the optical cable under-equipment activities to prioritize connections for schools and video surveillance systems to protect residents. Following this, the entire project will be laid, with the ambitious goal of connecting about 70% of requested points by the end of the year.

Mayor Enrico Volpi expressed his satisfaction, seeing one of the key points of his administration implemented: «Strengthening connections, in the communication era, is one of the decisive elements for effective governance. Equipping all municipal offices and key entities in the city with an advanced technological network allows optimizing management processes and accessing modern and effective tools for both territory control and providing better services to citizens.»

Regarding the connection for private users, he continued: «Castiglione delle Stiviere consolidates its role as a technological and industrial hub in the province. Businesses and citizens in the municipal area required this type of service and will increasingly demand it. Mynet’s initiative meets this need and allows looking to the future with more confidence and determination for a prompt and decisive recovery.»
