MALCESINE (VERONA) – After Peschiera and Lazise, Mynet is ready to connect the municipality of Malcesine with ultra-fast fiber: the national telecommunications operator officially presented today the FTTH (Fiber To The Home) installation works, which will allow the main municipal and school buildings in the town center to navigate at speeds up to 1 Gigabit/s.

The project was illustrated by Mynet’s General Manager, Giovanni Zorzoni, during the official presentation held via videoconference with the President of Malcesine Hoteliers (Federalberghi), Marco Treccani.

With an investment of 650,000 euros, Mynet will connect, through a brand-new fiber optic infrastructure that reaches inside the buildings, initially over 60 hotels, the municipal office in Piazza Statuto, the middle school "Don A. Moretto," the public library at Palazzo dei Capitani, the Scaliger Castle, the senior assistance center "Casa Toblini," the elementary school "Don Q. Turazza," the kindergarten "Gen. A. Pariani," the Lake Museum, and the Fraglia Vela sailing club.

Thanks to the agreement between Mynet and the Municipality, the excavation methods for laying the fiber have been low-impact, causing minimal disruption to citizens. The works for the construction of the infrastructure throughout the town began on October 12 and will be completed within three months, with a total installation of 48 km of local fiber and over 37 km of long-distance fiber.

With this project, Mynet, which lays no less than 1,300 km of fiber each year to serve industrial districts and public administrations, aims to connect over 400 tourist sector businesses on the three Garda Lake sides – Mantua, Brescia, and Verona – by the first months of 2021.
