THE NEW FREE WI-FI NETWORK INSTALLED BY MYNET IS UP AND RUNNING IN COMMESSAGGIO

COMMESSAGGIO (MANTUA) – The installation work for public wi-fi in Commessaggio has been completed in recent days, allowing citizens to browse freely with their own devices. The announcement was made by the Municipal Administration together with Mynet, which handled the installation of the new free hotspot network.

The project, financed under the WiFi4EU European program, made it possible to activate access points in all strategic areas of the town, significantly increasing connectivity opportunities for residents: powered by high-performance fiber connections, 11 new hotspots have been installed in five key locations, including the central Town Hall Square, covered by two access points that serve the entire area from the municipal building’s portico to the post office and along Via Garibaldi, a street full of shops and businesses.

Special attention has been given to the beautiful area of the Gonzaga Tower, a popular spot for families and young people, between the gardens of Via De Musoni and the parking area of Via Carducci, with wi-fi coverage extending as far as the historic and scenic Pontoon Bridge.

The library is now also equipped with a public wi-fi point, as is the school’s computer lab, its adjoining park, and the parking area in front of the primary school. In addition, it is now possible to use public wi-fi during events, weddings, and town council meetings thanks to the hotspot installed in the Civic Hall on Via Silvio Camicia.

Particular attention was also given to community gathering areas through the activation of three points in the sports area on Via Indipendenza: covering the tennis courts, the event area, and the parking lot, with coverage extending up to the football field stands.

This comprehensive project, coordinated by Mynet, was made possible thanks to close cooperation with the Municipal Administration, which believed in the initiative from the start. As Mayor Alessandro Sarasini stated: «Thanks to the investment funded by the European Economic Community and implemented by Mynet in close collaboration with the Administration, we have finally bridged the technological gap that our community has long faced. Today, we are at the forefront with a state-of-the-art wi-fi infrastructure, freely accessible to all users at high connection speeds through the fiber backbone built by Mynet as part of a broader project. The selected points provide the best coverage across the area, allowing residents to enjoy increasingly smart and digital services to see, learn, and experience our town.»

The wireless points are now fully operational, all connected to Mynet’s pure fiber network to deliver top performance, and can be easily identified by the dedicated signage near each access point. The registration process is extremely fast – citizens can complete it autonomously in under twenty seconds. To use the connection, simply connect to the Wifi4EU network and enter your phone number; registration remains active for 24 hours and can be renewed daily.
