MYNET STRENGTHENS ITS NETWORK IN SAN GIORGIO
SAN GIORGIO BIGARELLO (MANTOVA) – It is an ambitious project that Mynet is carrying out in San Giorgio Bigarello; here the Mantuan telecommunications operator is working to phase out the old telephone network connections and replace them with true fiber optics, while simultaneously cabling the new residential areas of the town, which will thus be able to enjoy a high-speed, low-latency connection.

The Piazza Giotto and swimming pool district has long been covered and is immediately activatable with FTTH (Fiber To The Home) fiber optics, with stable, reliable speeds up to 300 Mbit/s download and 100 Mbit/s upload; this is a first step, as by the end of 2021 an upgrade of the line is already planned to reach super speeds of 1 Gbit/s, similar to connections available in Italy’s largest cities.

Regarding the "dei fiumi" district, bounded by via Fossamana and via Ghisiolo, which includes, among others, via Sarca, Mincio, Chiese, and Ticino, excavation and installation works for the new FTTH fiber optic infrastructure are starting these days, offering web access with speeds up to 1 Gigabit/s.

"In this district, unfortunately, the old copper network infrastructure dating back to the monopoly is really deficient," explains Mynet’s General Manager, Giovanni Zorzoni; "as in many other areas where this occurs, Mynet addresses the problem with its own investments, creating true fiber optic networks directly into buildings to eliminate speed issues or potential faults."

The 100% Mantuan company has urgently provided the service first to the school complex to allow teachers and students to continue distance learning without the bottlenecks caused by traditional networks. From February 20, the first street-side works will be carried out, and consequently, the first connections will be made.

To launch the service, Mynet has prepared a special offer reserved for residents: further information is available by contacting the direct number 0376 22 22 00 or via email at home@mynet.it
