AFTER MYNET INTERVENTION THE MARTELLI IS HI-TECH

The work at the stadium covered various areas of connectivity, video surveillance, wi-fi and IoT, involving the telecommunications company's best skills

Mantova, 10th September 2024. Mynet, a historic telecommunications company, played a leading role in the renovation works of the Martelli stadium for Serie B, confirming its status as the top sponsor of the biancorossa club.

This morning, at the stadium's press room, the renewed partnership between Mynet and Mantova 1911 was presented: an opportunity to introduce the digitalization project of the stadium, a project in which the telecommunications company specializing in fiber optics has invested substantial resources.

After detailed planning and the involvement of Mynet's best experts, the works were completed in record time between May and July. A specialized team carried out massive upgrades to the existing telecommunication infrastructure at the stadium: surveillance cameras, Wi-Fi, connectivity, and remote management of new lighting and irrigation systems. These are the key pillars to ensure the stadium's full functionality and maximum security.

"We started the first works in May to create a complete project that would meet the new requirements," explained Giovanni Zorzoni, General Director of Mynet, "deploying the best internal skills with a team of 15 digital and IoT experts. The intervention required three weeks of design and two months of work at the stadium, which were completed by the end of July. It was a lightning-fast project, completed in record time, built on maximum operational flexibility. This confirms our role not only as an Italian telecommunications operator but also as a true digital factory—an ICT company that integrates diverse and innovative digital technologies and information systems. With the type of technology we used for this project, we can say the stadium is Serie A level. It is always a great satisfaction to be a digital link in the world around the city of Mantova and to be a partner of Mantova 1911."

Alessandro Raffa, Operations Director of Mantova 1911, added: "Teamwork is a fundamental element, not only when you're on the field but also in the work that happens off the field, away from the spotlight. It was precisely teamwork that allowed Mantova to compete in Serie B from day one at the Martelli stadium. This victory involved many protagonists, and it is to them that we say thank you."

Let’s delve into the details of the works carried out at the stadium. The project included the installation of two fiber optic rings, one external and one within the playing field area, as explained by Michele Lucchini, Special Projects Manager at Mynet.

"The external network is used to remotely manage the new floodlight towers, to operate the big screen and turnstiles with cameras, and it enhances the Wi-Fi service in the public areas of the stadium, such as the locker rooms and the press box, in addition to supporting the new video surveillance system. The fiber optic ring installed inside the playing field area," added Lucchini, "partly serves the video surveillance system, partly the management of LED boards for the sidelines, the VAR, and the new irrigation system."

A separate section is dedicated to the video surveillance upgrade: "We doubled the number of cameras, from 12 to 24, all in ultra-high 4K resolution," explained Davide Zavanella, Head of Smart City Projects, "On the sidelines, four state-of-the-art, ultra-high resolution cameras were installed, which can be remotely controlled in both vertical and horizontal directions, covering almost 360°. We also repaired, cleaned, and updated eight other existing video surveillance devices, as we believe that if something can be recovered, it should always be repaired and maintained."
