DIGITISATION: THE ‘BEYOND THE RIVER: A DIGITAL BRIDGE’ PROJECT KICKS OFF IN VIADANA

The target is 150 sign-ups by 31 May to start work on the fibre-optic network in the northern hamlets

The digitalization project for the northern districts of Viadana, named “Across the River: a Digital Bridge”, takes another step forward. Last night, over 70 people, including private citizens and entrepreneurs, attended the public meeting at the Lux Cinema in San Matteo for the presentation of the timeline.

Now the challenge is to collect 150 pre-subscriptions by next May 31st, which are essential to start the works.

“The construction site involves laying over 18 kilometers of optical fiber and employing 20 specialized technicians who will be in the area from June to November – explains the project manager Cristian Andreoli – based on the requests we receive, we will create a tailored executive project. For this reason, it is important that those interested express their interest now: once work has begun, it will be complicated to make changes or diversions”.

During the evening, retail sales representative Andrea Albieri presented the proposals for private customers: a Pro version, with browsing speeds up to 2.5 Gigabits per second, and a Lite version, with 2.5 Gigabits in download and 1 in upload. Extraordinary speeds compared to the past with the guarantee of a monthly fee (Lite 28 €/month; Pro: 31 €/month) locked forever. The process for companies is different: given the different connectivity needs linked to multiple variables, an appointment directly on-site with a dedicated sales representative is planned.

The Mynet staff will return to San Matteo on Wednesday, May 6th and Monday, May 11th from 10 am to 1 pm at the Delegation in via Ghetto 3 to collect further subscriptions. (Info: T. 0376 222200 – home@mynet.it).

Mynet General Manager Giovanni Zorzoni emphasizes the strategic importance of the operation for the competitiveness of the territory.

"Our commitment to closing the digital divide in the most peripheral and isolated areas of the Mantua region continues. Just in these days, we have started works to connect Pozzolo sul Mincio, with the goal of finishing the new network by the end of the year. In a period of crisis where price increases and investment suspensions dominate the market, it becomes even clearer how the role of a true local operator like Mynet interprets its public mission of digitalization, keeping prices locked and bringing optical fiber where it is missing, without public funding".
