LA VALLE SABBIA ENTRUSTS MYNET: FOR 5 YEARS, THE COMPANY WILL PROVIDE FIBER OPTIC SERVICES TO ALL MUNICIPALITIES IN THE VALLEY
VALLE SABBIA (BRESCIA) – Mynet, after achieving the European speed record on 50 Gbit/s optical fiber with the new 50G-PON technology, is once again in the spotlight for another major achievement: in recent hours, Secoval srl has officially awarded the contract for the provision of ultra-broadband connection and VOIP telephony services for public buildings in the Valle Sabbia area and the municipalities participating in the project “digital transition with PNRR funds for digitalization.” The project provides that the telecommunications operator — whose strategic and commercial direction is based in Montichiari — will deliver all ultrabroadband fiber optic services for five years in all 25 municipalities of the valley and another 7 neighboring municipalities, for a total of 98 connected sites.

A true focal point of the impressive work plan lies in the creation of a network with a transport capacity of 400 Gbit/s (easily upgradeable up to 5.8 Terabit/s) which, for the very first time, will connect in a fully redundant ring (a network structure ensuring that a single backbone cable failure cannot interrupt the service), reaching as far as Trentino.

«We are the only operator connecting Valle Sabbia to Trentino, guaranteeing total network redundancy and reliability,» says Giorgio Intonti, Mynet’s Commercial Director, – «and this public work will remain forever a heritage of the Valle Sabbia community.»

The Head of Large Business Clients in Brescia, Alberto Belpietro, adds: «Mynet has always stood out for investing not only in access networks, those reaching businesses and homes, but also in the very important long-distance networks that connect towns and regions, building innovative infrastructures with the main goal of offering maximum reliability to its customers. That same reliability, quality, and personalized assistance have always been our strengths.»

Already strongly present in Valle Sabbia with investments dating back to 2010, Mynet will further strengthen its presence by bringing here an alternative both in quality and in approach: «At Mynet, from technicians to owners and managers, we are all true technology enthusiasts. For us, technological excellence comes before everything else. That is why, despite €30 million in revenue and over 30,000 km of fiber optic cable laid across the most important regions of northern Italy, we have always preferred work ethics and daily commitment over economic speculation — to do something good for our territories,» says Mynet’s General Director, Giovanni Zorzoni, who is also President of the Italian Internet Providers Association.

The company aims to expand its coverage up to 85% of the Brescia area by the end of 2024, with an already approved investment of €10 million for the province of Brescia alone. This is yet another opportunity to continue developing its fiber optic network to serve the entire community.
