FINALLY, THE "MANTOVANELLA" INDUSTRIAL BUSINESS CENTRE ALSO HAS ACCESS TO ULTRA-BROADBAND, THANKS TO MYNET
MANTOVA – The last industrial area of Mantua that was still completely digitally divided has finally been reached by fiber optics: we’re talking about the “Mantovanella” industrial zone, in the Gambarara district, where Mynet has been working in recent months to make ultra-broadband connectivity available to companies and customers who joined the Connectivity Voucher Plan in previous months.

The work focused in particular on creating a new optical backbone infrastructure coming from Sant’Antonio di Porto Mantovano, a dedicated access network for the industrial area, and the corresponding infrastructural extensions in road sections that were still devoid of any usable infrastructure; the final operational step was the installation of entry points at the premises of the contracted customers, completed just a few days ago.

With 5,500 meters of backbone cable laid, over 2,500 meters of access cable, 250 meters of new infrastructure excavations, and 14 new manholes installed, the project carried out by Mynet for the Gambarara industrial area represents an intervention of fundamental socio-economic value: just think that this productive area of Mantua was, until yesterday, still without ultra-broadband connection, limited to browsing speeds below 7 Mbit/s.

“High-speed connectivity is an essential infrastructure that increases the competitiveness of our companies,” comments Mynet’s General Director Giovanni Zorzoni. “Fiber optics are a true advantage for the entire territory, and it’s only thanks to the foresight of enlightened administrators like those of our Municipality that we’ve been able to eliminate the heavy costs of the digital divide for all productive areas of the city. It’s an extraordinary result if we think that just a few months ago these companies could barely browse the Internet or send a simple email.”

Thus Mauro Bergamaschi, CEO of Plastisac, one of the companies in the “Mantovanella” industrial area reached by Mynet’s fiber optics: “We are pleased to have joined this project, an expression of an increasingly interconnected society that allows companies to develop their activities relying on reliable connectivity services such as those offered by Mynet. The new businesses of Plastisac, based on digitalization and sustainability, reflect the new frontiers on which all companies now measure their competitiveness. The perfect synergy between public and private sectors, as happened in this case, finally allows industrial entities like ours to rely on an adequate level of awareness.”

Mynet for the copper network switch-off in the city of Mantua

During the press conference, Mynet’s General Director Zorzoni announced the imminent launch of the copper network switch-off for all VAT-registered businesses, associated offices, and small and micro enterprises operating in Mantua’s historic center.

SMEs subscribing to Mynet’s fiber optic offer with speeds over 1 Gbit/s will not pay the activation cost. The promotion will be reserved for the first 2,000 participating companies (both existing Mynet customers and those from other operators).

“This operation,” stated Zorzoni, “is worth over 4 million euros, will start in April and continue throughout the year until next December 31.”
