MYNET AND PUNTO COM GROUP: AN ALL-ITALIAN PARTNERSHIP FOR THE FUTURE OF FIBER AND CLOUD
When two local companies choose to collaborate by combining their unique specializations, the result is tangible innovation serving their local territory.

This is precisely what is happening with the partnership between Mynet – a national operator with over 32,000 km of proprietary fiber-optic network and a strong presence in Brescia and its province – and Punto Com Group – a company based in Cazzago San Martino specializing in IT services and artificial intelligence solutions, which has recently inaugurated Punto Com #1, the largest edge computing data center in the province of Brescia (which has fewer than 10 across the entire territory), with a capacity of 400 kilowatts (the unit of measure used for data processing centers).

Thanks to the high-performance connectivity provided by Mynet, the new infrastructure will be able to serve up to 3,000 businesses in the Brescia area, from SMEs to the largest industrial companies.

An edge data center is a “proximity” IT architecture in which data processing takes place as close as possible to the end users — in this case, client companies — instead of in a centralized data center, thereby enabling faster data processing. In addition, Mynet has directly connected the new data center to its ultra-fast network: a strategic choice ensuring customers a stable and fast connection with high and consistent performance.

“The decision to collaborate with Punto Com Group fits perfectly with our mission: to directly and efficiently connect edge data centers to the core of our proprietary network, ensuring top performance through the full control we maintain over our infrastructure,” said Giovanni Zorzoni, General Manager of Mynet.

“This was an important investment for us,” explained Mauro Quaini, CEO of Punto Com Group. “It is an AI Data Center — an advanced IT infrastructure designed to handle the high computing demands required by artificial intelligence applications, addressing current market needs. It was entirely built locally, featuring modern and highly efficient infrastructures designed to support AI-based digital services, ensuring reliability, speed, and security for clients. Thanks to Mynet’s connection, we can now bring users closer to the most advanced technologies of today and tomorrow, linking customers’ needs with a unique, state-of-the-art technology hub ready to meet present and future challenges in computing power, data storage, and security — while ensuring the safety of information processed and stored within the data center.”

Currently, Italy hosts 153 data centers, concentrated mainly in the North, particularly in Milan, followed by Rome. This figure places the country fourth in Europe, with demand steadily growing, driven by cloud computing and AI.

“In a telecommunications sector where financial performance often takes precedence over service quality, Punto Com Group and Mynet stand out as a positive exception: two specialized companies — each a leader in its field — one offering cutting-edge technologies in artificial intelligence and advanced IT services, the other providing ultra-reliable, diversified fiber-optic connectivity — working together to deliver highly integrated and innovative solutions to their region,” added Zorzoni.

“What brought us together was the shared belief that the best solutions come from those who deeply understand their profession and field of expertise and are not afraid to invest locally. The result is a hyper-connected data center built to last, capable of precisely meeting the needs of local businesses with AI-based solutions that are fast, reliable, and easy to use,” concluded Zorzoni and Quaini.

Two companies with a strong local vocation, two different yet complementary skill sets, one shared goal: to bring real, measurable, and lasting innovation to the region by doing what they each do best.
