SAN GIOVANNI DEL DOSSO – Mynet adds another flag to its fiber optic network: this time the area reached by ultrabroadband is San Giovanni del Dosso, where the Mantua-based telecommunications operator had already connected much of the town in recent months with mixed fiber-copper (FTTC – Fiber To The Cabinet) offering speeds up to 100 Mbit/s download and 20 Mbit/s upload. The main new development concerns true FTTH (Fiber To The Home) fiber optic service, extending all the way into homes and offering web access at speeds up to 1 Gigabit: in recent days the new infrastructure has reached Via Dossi, Via Gallucci, Via Mantegna and Via Sordello. Thanks to the synergistic relationship established with the Municipality, in the coming weeks the nine municipal offices will be connected with FTTH, as requested by the public administration; at the same time, this intervention will also enable the implementation of the video surveillance service. Five Telecom cabinets will also be connected for the E-VDSL service for citizens, providing 100% coverage of the municipal territory and serving as a support for bringing FTTH to the industrial area as well. In recent days, Mynet teams have been working intensively on the network with the goal of activating the service by the end of February, both for the cabinets and for the municipal offices. Mynet’s General Director, Giovanni Zorzoni, commented: “Even in a small town in the province of Mantua on the border with Emilia-Romagna, Mynet has succeeded in bringing all the benefits of true fiber optics. A major step forward for a town located in a rural area which, precisely because it is far from more urbanized centers, is often disadvantaged in telecommunications. We can say, in this specific case, that we have bridged that digital divide which still too often splits the country in two — between cities and countryside, between areas served by fiber optics and others that are literally isolated or almost so.” The service is already available by contacting Mynet’s sales agents at home@mynet.it or by calling 0376 22 22 00.
