MOTTEGGIANA – Mynet won the tender announced by the Municipality of Motteggiana for the construction of the fiber optic infrastructure essential for connectivity and urban security in the municipal territory. The award of the work will allow the company to carry out the FTTH (Fiber To The Home – pure fiber directly to homes) connection of municipal buildings and the main points of interest in the town. Specifically, the tender concerns the provision of a physical infrastructure for telecommunications, extraordinary maintenance and upgrading of specific segments of public lighting ducts, and the construction of the FTTH fiber optic line for the following municipal points of interest: in Motteggiana, the Town Hall (Centro Stella), the primary schools (old and new, the latter under construction), Parco Andreani Palicali – fairgrounds area, the SPORTS CENTER, and some intersections including Via Roma, SP50, Via Don Mazzolari, Piazza Italia, Via Argine Po, and Strada Belvedere. In the hamlet of Torricella, the municipal swimming pool, the Civil Protection headquarters, the medical clinic, the photovoltaic plant, and the Ploner parking lot will be connected, as well as some intersections between Via Allende, Via Alighieri, and Piazza Matteotti; in the hamlet of Sailetto, Parco Dugoni and the intersections SP62-Via Zavagnino-Strada Argine Po-Via XXV Aprile; finally, in the hamlet of Villa Saviola, the Bruno Morselli sports center, sports hall, Agazzi kindergarten, Rabin nursery, outpatient clinic, hydraulic warehouse, ecological island, and intersections Via Filzi-Via Olivieri-Via De Gasperi, Via Trento, and Via Papa Giovanni XXIII-Via Argine Po. The project also includes specific actions regarding video surveillance, with the installation of eight smart CCTV poles and three for Wi-Fi, as well as the installation and configuration of a high-definition NVR (Network Video Recorder) at the municipal Centro Stella. The total cost of the works, which started on October 31, is €145,000, but the telecommunications operator is already ready to reinvest another €400,000 for connecting the hamlets and, more generally, private users in the municipality. “This project will concretely contribute to the revival of the territory, eagerly awaited by citizens and businesses in the hamlets,” explains Mynet’s General Manager, Giovanni Zorzoni. “It is a substantial intervention that provides a decisive boost to the digital transformation of the territory, specifically designed to respond accurately to the municipal council’s requests. With this infrastructure, neighborhoods further from the center will be able to develop even more, relying on digital services of the highest quality currently available in telecommunications.” “Fast internet connectivity means competitiveness for any productive or commercial activity, while for those studying or working from home it means staying constantly updated and being able to manage their work flexibly,” adds the Mayor of Motteggiana, Stefano Pelliciardi. “In an increasingly digital society connected through the web, smart working and e-learning represent a new lifestyle, which the health emergency has made even more evident. As a municipal administration, we strongly supported this project, which was one of the main goals indicated in the electoral program; this work allows us to fill an infrastructural gap that penalizes businesses, commercial activities, families, students, and municipal offices; the project has significant value for Motteggiana, as for a small municipality like ours, infrastructure will be developed not only in the main town but also in the hamlets. The project was funded with €100,000 through Regional Law 9 “Interventions for Economic Recovery” and the remaining amount from the municipality’s own resources. In addition to laying the fiber optic network, eight surveillance cameras will be installed: this is the first phase, and in the coming years the number of cameras across the municipal territory will be increased. A well-deserved recognition goes to the staff who worked diligently on this project, which can be completed in a short time.”
