PADENGHE FOCUSES ON SECURITY: 20 NEW CAMERAS CONNECTED TO MYNET'S SUPER FIBER OPTICS ARE COMING
PADENGHE SUL GARDA (BRESCIA) – Twenty new electronic “eyes” to increase public safety and protect both public and private property: this is the project launched by the Municipality of Padenghe sul Garda in close collaboration with Mynet, a leading telecommunications operator across northern Italy with over 30,000 km of proprietary fiber optic network.

The new video surveillance system consists of an extensive network of smart poles (about twenty distributed throughout the entire municipal area of Padenghe, including the surrounding hamlets) connected to genuine fiber optics providing speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s. The fiber power and distribution network built by Mynet to connect the new cameras will remain property of the Municipality, while also enhancing the availability of ultra-broadband in areas of the town that were previously uncovered. Through this fiber connection, all cameras will be linked to the local Police Headquarters, where the footage will be monitored 24 hours a day.

The cameras will be installed in the most sensitive areas for public safety and traffic management, as well as at key road junctions. Among the sites monitored by the new system are the Padenghe Castle, the eco-island in Via dell’Artigianato, the cemetery, the Padenghe lakeside, and the amphitheater area, as well as the more peripheral locations of Monte Alto and Pratello. A “special eye” will watch over the Via Marconi access point: this particular camera will be equipped with a license plate recognition system to track and monitor vehicles circulating within the municipality.
