VILLIMPENTA-BONFERRARO: THE DIGITAL DIVIDE WILL SOON BE JUST A MEMORY: WORK ON THE NEW FIBER OPTIC BACKGROUND WILL BEGIN THIS FALL WITH MYNET
VILLIMPENTA (MANTOVA) – The next fight by Mynet against the digital divide will take place between Villimpenta and Bonferraro, on the border between Lombardy and Veneto: by the end of summer, a large-scale intervention is already planned that promises significant impact on the digital transition of the rural areas in the region.

The plan is outlined by the General Manager of the telecommunications company, Giovanni Zorzoni (pictured): «The beginning of autumn will see us engaged in the construction of the new fiber optic backbone along the route connecting Villimpenta in Mantua to the center of Bonferraro, in Verona. The infrastructure will pass through the localities of Moratica, Pampuro, and Corte Belgioioso (fractions of Sorgà), along the Veronese stretch of SP20A and the Mantuan stretch of SP32, heading towards Vallano Begozza and shortly after Villimpenta».

A key feature of Mynet's teams’ intervention will be, precisely, the focus on reducing the digital divide in these peripheral areas, dotted with scattered houses and businesses that until now have been poorly or not at all connected to broadband. This is an important action, in line with the Digital Compass 2030 (the European Commission’s digital roadmap) and the PNRR, aiming to ensure even the most isolated rural areas have growth prospects comparable to urban areas.

«Reducing the digital divide has been our battle for over twenty years» – adds Zorzoni. – «I am therefore extremely satisfied with the work we are carrying out because even in this territory, as in many others reached by Mynet throughout northern Italy, we aim to create new services and new opportunities for citizens and businesses».
