IN MOGLIA, MYNET IS WORKING TO BRING FIBER OPTICS TO THE LOCALITY
MOGLIA (MANTOVA) – A crucial hub for the connection between the province of Mantua and those of Modena and Reggio Emilia, the center of Moglia has recently been added to the long list of towns served by Mynet fiber optics: in fact, the FTTH and FTTC cabling project for the municipal area is taking shape these weeks, following the implementation last September of the Moglia-Reggiolo long-distance section infrastructure, of which Mynet is the sole owning operator.

Work to connect the main town and the principal fraction of Bondanello to ultra-broadband began last February; over 25 kilometers of backbone have already been laid, using innovative low-impact excavation techniques.

Specifically, the intervention by the telecommunications company teams involved the FTTH (Fiber To The Home) optical fiber connection for all school buildings, which will be able to navigate the web at speeds up to 1 Gigabit/s; municipal offices will reach up to 200 Mbit/s symmetric speed (both download and upload).

For private users, eleven FTTC (Fiber To The Cabinet) cabinets will be installed between Moglia and Bondanello, providing as a basic service available to all a mixed fiber-copper connection with speeds up to 300 Mbit/s download and 40 Mbit/s upload; for private units within 50 meters of the fiber access network, it will also be possible to take advantage of speeds up to 1 Gigabit/s.

Currently, the telecommunications teams are carrying out the final excavations and blowing in the backbone cables, after which the first internal installations will begin; completion is expected by September for all FTTH users, while FTTC fiber will be ready by the end of October. If today 90% of Moglia’s companies are already connected to Mynet’s fiber optics, the first private activations are expected from September.
