BEYOND THE RIVER: A DIGITAL BRIDGE

Mynet responds to the appeal from Viadana’s northern districts: fiber-optic mapping gets underway

Viadana, January 9, 2026. A concrete response to a need that can no longer be postponed, encapsulated in a highly symbolic name: “Beyond the river: a digital bridge”. This is the title of the project through which Mynet, the telecommunications operator specializing in fiber optics that celebrated 30 years of activity last year and owns a network of over 32,000 kilometers, announces the start of the process to bring ultra-high-performance connectivity to the five districts north of Viadana.

The name chosen for the initiative is no coincidence: it is inspired by the iconic floating bridge over the Oglio River, a historic connection point and symbol of a territory that has always drawn strength from uniting its banks. With this project, Mynet aims to build a new type of infrastructure, no longer made of boats and wood, but of fiber optics, allowing citizens and businesses to definitively overcome the isolation caused by the digital divide.

The company, long rooted in the Virgilian area, has responded to the appeal of the more than one hundred signatories of the petition launched in the northern districts: Cavallara, Cizzolo, Sabbioni, San Matteo delle Chiaviche and Squarzanella. Following an operational meeting between Mynet’s management and the promoters, a timeline was defined to turn this need into reality.

To make the project executable, Mynet has activated the dedicated portal https://548.vogliadifibra.it. Through this site, residents and businesses will be able to express their interest by January 31, 2026. The collection of these expressions of interest – which do not constitute a contractual obligation – is essential, as the data will make it possible to precisely map the needs of the five districts; size the network based on the real needs of businesses and private users; and define an executive project for the extension of the fiber network.

"Just as the floating bridge represents a vital link for our area, the project ‘Beyond the river’ aims to be the bridge to the future for these communities" – states Mynet’s General Manager Giovanni Zorzoni – "We are a company from Mantua and feel a duty to respond to disadvantaged areas. Dialogue with the promoters was the trigger; now everyone’s participation is needed to move from mapping to construction."

"Given the increasingly pressing need to be connected to the Internet, both as businesses and as private citizens, we thought that a petition would be the first step to try to bring fiber to our companies and homes. Through this initiative, we realized that the number of citizens interested in this service is significant. At the same time as the signing, we asked for the collaboration of the Municipality. Thanks to the support of the Administration and the interest shown by Mynet, the project – fundamental to ensuring the survival of Viadana’s northern districts – has taken off" explain the promoters.
