BRENZONE SUL GARDA IS PREPARING TO BECOME A SMART CITY WITH MYNET'S FIBER OPTICS

BRENZONE SUL GARDA (VERONA) – Mynet continues its fiber optic connection work along the Verona shore of Lake Garda: after Malcesine, the Municipality of Brenzone sul Garda, located in the heart of the Olive Riviera, is now being connected to the network infrastructure using FTTH technology (Fiber To The Home – fiber directly into buildings).

In the coming days, the telecommunications company will begin connecting the Town Hall, the Scalette school complex, the multifunctional “former school” building in Castelletto, the Tourist Information Office (IAT) in Porto, the three cemeteries of San Giovanni, Castelletto and Castello, the former kindergarten in Castello, the multifunctional hall and the future “Disciplina” library, as well as the four small harbors of Porto, Magugano, Assenza and Castelletto. Specific projects are also being developed for Trimelone Island and the entire video surveillance system; finally, the sports facilities in Acquafresca and Prada will also be connected.

The first phase of the work is expected to be completed around mid-July, but the focus is already on the future: the Municipal Administration’s goal is to create a technologically advanced and easily upgradable network, capable of gradually transforming Brenzone sul Garda into a true smart city. For this reason, in addition to public administration, the Mynet infrastructure will also serve citizens directly: it will support information boards, parking meters, interactive totems, and video surveillance systems — all aimed at continuously improving safety along the municipality’s roads, beaches, and pedestrian-cycle paths.

“We are emerging from a difficult period caused by the global pandemic,” said Mayor Davide Benedetti. “Brenzone is investing heavily to improve and innovate public services in line with the PNRR, whose main objective is digitalization. I dream of a smart municipality, at the forefront in services to citizens, and fiber is a key infrastructure that creates important opportunities for our tourism-oriented economy. As a member of the regional and national UNCEM council,” Benedetti continued, “I have fought to bridge the digital divide that has made our lives more difficult until now. I am confident that the project schedule will be met and that in the coming months we will be able to make full use of this important potential.”
