DIGITALIZATION OF AGRICULTURE: COUNCILLOR BEDUSCHI VISITS MYNET
DIGITALIZATION OF AGRICULTURE: COUNCILLOR BEDUSCHI VISITS MYNET
10/28/2026
Mantova, 28 October 2026 -
The Councillor for Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry of the Lombardy Region,
Alessandro Beduschi
, visited
Mynet's
headquarters for a discussion on the digitalisation of the agricultural sector.
He was welcomed by the company's Board of Directors – Chairman
Riccardo Barbera
, Director
Luca Legittimo
and General Manager
Giovanni Zorzoni
– alongside Sales Director
Giorgio Intonti.
At the heart of the meeting were
agricultural digitalisation
and the
Digital Farming
project, an initiative to which Mynet and
AIIP
, the association of Internet service providers of which the company is a member and where Zorzoni serves as Vice President, have devoted considerable commitment and resources. The project was also the subject of a recent
memorandum of understanding
signed in Rome by Coldiretti President Ettore Prandini.
The rationale behind the agreement is clear: the digital transformation of the sector is an essential driver of increased productivity, sustainability, competitiveness and business resilience. The shift towards precision farming, automation, sensor technology and intelligent management of water and energy resources requires fast, stable and reliable infrastructure, tailored to the actual operational needs of agricultural businesses.
The agreement aims to
promote access to FTTH connectivity
for agricultural businesses, with particular attention to internal cabling costs – one of the main obstacles to connecting farms – as well as the final connection segment and public funding schemes supporting digital investments.
"
Over the past few years, Italy has made significant progress in the digitalisation of businesses, and we are beginning to see the results
," said Zorzoni. "
Agricultural businesses, however, are a special case: laying fibre-optic cables within private properties requires excavation work whose costs are far higher than those encountered in other settings. This is precisely where our efforts are focused: we bring fibre right into the courtyard of the farm, where sensors, data and precision farming begin. We would like to thank Councillor Beduschi for the constructive discussion and his willingness to engage, as well as for the attention he has given to a sector that is crucial to Lombardy's economy
."
"
The digitalisation of agricultural businesses
," commented the Councillor, "
is a concrete response to the need to combine increased production with more efficient and competitive management, while ensuring even greater attention to environmental resources, inputs and overall operating costs. Supporting this innovation process, however, also requires wider fibre-optic coverage across agricultural businesses and, more broadly, rural areas, in order to
improve services and strengthen local communities. In this regard, Mynet is a pioneering company capable of supporting the digital revolution in agriculture
