THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE “DIGITAL BRIDGE” ARE BEING LAID: MYNET'S MAJOR PROJECT TO BRING FIBER-OPTIC INTERNET TO THE NORTHERN HAMLETS OF VIADANA WILL BEGIN AT THE END OF JULY

A 761,000 euro investment to eliminate the digital divide in San Matteo delle Chiaviche, Cavallara, Cizzolo, Sabbioni, and Squarzanella by the end of the year

Viadana, July 8, 2026 – The operational foundations of the “Digital Bridge” will be laid very shortly. This is the extraordinary fiber-optic infrastructure plan for the northern hamlets of the municipality of Viadana, promoted by Mynet.

Starting from late July, the first excavation and cable-laying works will officially kick off, with the goal of completing the works and activating connections for citizens and businesses by the end of the current year.

For the operator, this is a highly prominent infrastructural intervention, quantifiable as a total investment of 761,000 euros. The executive project, tailor-made for the specific characteristics of the area, will see the deployment of over 18 kilometers of new fiber-optic network and the steady employment of a team of 20 specialized technicians, who will operate in the area until next December.

PRIVATE INVESTMENT: 761,000 €
FIBER OPTIC LAID: > 18 Km
SPECIALIZED TECHNICIANS: 20

The launch of the construction site represents a concrete response to a specific popular mobilization born in December 2025. At that time, the local press highlighted a signature collection spontaneously promoted by residents and entrepreneurs of San Matteo delle Chiaviche, Cavallara, Cizzolo, Sabbioni, and Squarzanella. Over one hundred signatories denounced a situation of severe digital isolation, penalizing both the daily activities of families (smart working, remote learning, entertainment) and the competitiveness of the local productive fabric.

Mynet promptly took up the appeal by structuring a participatory process: a dedicated web portal was implemented to collect expressions of interest, and two meetings were promoted in the area, accompanied by technical and commercial inspections, aimed at mapping the real needs of citizens and businesses.

“By January 2027, the digital divide in the northern hamlets of Viadana will be just a bad memory – states Mynet's General Manager Giovanni Zorzoni – This project is part of our constant commitment to bridging the digital divide in the most isolated areas; suffice it to say that in parallel, we have started works to connect the hamlet of Pozzolo sul Mincio, also targeting completion by the end of the year. In a complex macroeconomic context characterized by widespread price increases and the freezing of investments by many players, Mynet proves its social utility mission through facts: we keep our prices locked in and bring digital highways where others do not reach, investing resources, time, and proprietary know-how.”

Mynet's actions over the last six months have seen the activation of multiple infrastructure projects in geographically disadvantaged or peripheral areas, not only within the province of Mantua but also expanding decisively into the territories of Brescia and Verona.

Regarding the commercial offer dedicated to residential users in the Viadana hamlets, Mynet has structured two different solutions with a monthly fee locked forever: a LITE version (speeds up to 2.5 Gigabit/s download and 1 Gigabit/s upload, priced at €28/month) and a PRO version (symmetrical connectivity up to 2.5 Gigabit/s both download and upload, priced at €31/month). For the business and manufacturing sector, whose needs require customized configurations and dedicated continuity guarantees, a specific process is planned, based on tailor-made consultations and direct on-site appointments with a dedicated commercial official.

"We strongly share and endorse Mynet's project, following up on the agreements reached during the spring – states the Mayor of Viadana Nicola Cavatorta - This initiative stems from a real and deeply felt need of the citizens residing in the northern hamlets, with a view to an overall strengthening of services across the entire municipal territory. In fact, numerous private citizens and companies in the area had been calling for a clear improvement in connectivity for some time. We therefore thank Mynet for taking charge of the necessary works. As the Municipal Administration, we wanted to dedicate crucial attention to the school system and local services, ensuring the connection of the schools in Cizzolo and San Matteo, as well as the local municipal branch office."

The Municipality has indeed commissioned Mynet to bring ultra-broadband to three strategic municipal properties: the municipal branch office with its attached civic hall in San Matteo delle Chiaviche, the Dosolo Pomponesco Viadana Comprehensive Institute, and the kindergarten in Cizzolo. Furthermore, the intervention will not be limited to connectivity but will enhance local security: the project includes the installation of 5 new video surveillance points, which will be placed at the San Matteo delle Chiaviche Cemetery, the Civic Hall of San Matteo delle Chiaviche, in Squarzanella, and in Cizzolo (specifically in Via Mentana and Via Libia).

"We are extremely satisfied with this result. Bringing fiber optics to the northern hamlets of Viadana means concretely tearing down the digital divide and ensuring that all our citizens have access to services that have now become essential for daily life and work. Sincere thanks go to Mynet for believing in this great project and for their commitment to carrying it forward, investing in the future of our territory, and to the local Administration that has supported us from the very beginning," comment Marina Flisi and Paolo Gelati, promoters of the popular petition.
