MYNET RESPONDS TO THE CITIZENS OF POMPONESCO'S APPEAL
POMPONESCO (MANTOVA) – Soon fiber optics will reach the homes, businesses, and public buildings of Pomponesco: this is promised by Mynet, which has taken the town's appeal to heart and committed to rapidly activating ultra-broadband throughout the municipal territory.

In the coming days, the teams of the Mantuan telecommunications operator will start work to create a backbone infrastructure along the provincial road nearly two kilometers long, followed by the creation of an access network within the municipality of an additional two and a half kilometers serving the entire town.

All municipal facilities will be connected with FTTH (Fiber To The Home – true fiber directly into the building) at very high speed: specifically, the town hall in Piazza XXIII Aprile, the primary and nursery schools, the theater, the Civil Protection headquarters, and the sports facilities in Piazzale Togliani will be connected.

The citizens’ requests will not go unheard: three FTTC cabinets (Fiber To The Cabinet – fiber to the street cabinet) will also be installed, providing a base service available to everyone with mixed fiber-copper connection speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s download and 20 Mbit/s upload, with the possibility to request pure FTTH fiber after a feasibility study. The natural future evolution of the project includes FTTH connections for all productive activities in the municipal area.

“Prompted by my citizens and local businesses, I worked with our technical office to activate fiber optics in the area,” explains Mayor Giuseppe Baruffaldi. “As soon as the opportunity arose, we seized it, and on 31/12/2020, with resolution no. 67, we formalized the assignment to Mynet to cable the municipal offices and three telephone cabinets.”

The conclusion of the work is expected before summer, confirms Mynet’s General Manager Giovanni Zorzoni: “We could not ignore the appeal of an entire town, which is why we are committed to making our network operational as soon as possible, likely by June; these are exactly the interventions we care most about because they provide a concrete response to the real needs of the citizens: to continue working, studying, and, hopefully, sometimes having fun online, despite the limitations imposed by the pandemic.”
