DOSOLO DISCOVERS TRUE FIBER OPTICS WITH MYNET

DOSOLO (MANTOVA) – Smart working, distance learning, ultra-low latency gaming, and high-resolution streaming are becoming a reality in Dosolo thanks to the contribution of Mynet: the telecommunications operator has recently started excavation and installation works for the new FTTH (Fiber To The Home) fiber optic infrastructure, true fiber optic directly to homes with speeds up to 300 Mbit/s download and 100 Mbit/s upload, which will continue across the entire municipality for about a month.

In particular, the works started from the Correggioverde district and will continue in the coming weeks towards the urban center of Dosolo, along the provincial road, finally reaching the Villastrada district. The first connections will involve public interest buildings, including the Dosolo Pomponesco Viadana Comprehensive Institute, the elementary and kindergarten schools, municipal offices, and the municipal cinema-theater; then the already contracted companies and production facilities will be connected, before moving on to private users.

«From the days following the establishment of the new administration, we created a discussion table with Mynet, which is now leading to the start of a project essential for our community – commented Mayor Pietro Bortolotti. – Our citizens and businesses are requesting it. At a historical moment when distance learning and smart working are imposed, we need to reduce the digital divide. The implementation of ultra-broadband in our territory will allow us to counter marginalization, remain attractive to companies, increase the competitiveness of existing businesses, and meet the needs of many young people and families who require stable connections for study and work. Future investments in Wi-Fi points in the town and surrounding districts will also serve citizens, funded by the European Community following the victory of the Wifi4EU call.»
