MOTTEGGIANA – Mynet is also expanding its network in Motteggiana, making it available not only for businesses and industries but also for residential customers, for now only in the town center.
“The opportunity to work in this area was directly provided by a large group of residents in the historic center who requested to be connected to fiber and, by joining forces, gave us the possibility to develop an ad-hoc FTTH (Fiber To The Home) project, meaning true fiber optic directly into the home, with speeds up to 1000 Mbit/s.” This is how Mynet’s General Manager, Giovanni Zorzoni, commented on the intervention, particularly important for its capillarity, since it not only covers a large part of the town center but also connects its industrial area, thus providing companies with a service that is now more vital than ever to remain competitive. The project specifically is based on the extension through excavations – some carried out using a special robotic technique developed by the company in 2019 – of the backbone and access network already built in previous years dedicated to industrial areas between Suzzara and Gonzaga, and the close proximity of the town center to the backbone created in past years. In this way, the area is now covered by a highly performing FTTH infrastructure, the only one capable of delivering web connection speeds up to 1000 Mbit/s and providing access to "future-ready" services, such as smart working, distance learning, home automation, and video surveillance. “The cost-effectiveness of the intervention was made possible through an agreement to reuse public lighting ducts,” Zorzoni continues; “this is why we are extremely satisfied with the speed, sensitivity, and technical expertise that characterized our collaboration with the Municipality of Motteggiana, where we quickly moved from words to actions, giving a boost to the town’s future development.”
