MYNET NETWORK EXPANSION CONTINUES IN THE BRESCIA AREA

The Lombard telco with a 30,000 km fiber optic network launches a specific infrastructure development project for municipal offices, which will be connected via FTTH with speeds up to 1 Gbit/s

COLOGNE (BRESCIA) – Mynet continues its strong expansion in the Brescia area: the telecom operator, a leader in network infrastructure in northern Italy, will build a FTTH (Fiber To The Home) fiber optic connection with speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s for all the main municipal buildings of Cologne: town hall, library, nursery, kindergarten, primary and middle schools, sports hall, recycling center, and the Civil Protection operations base, as well as other smart points across the municipality, for a total of over 7 km of access network.

“Thanks to our proprietary Palazzolo-Rovato-Brescia network along provincial road 573, bringing huge data capacity independently to all towns in the area is quick and straightforward for us,” explains Mynet’s General Director, Giovanni Zorzoni, adding that “in this territory, Mynet owns extremely modern, high-performance, and scalable backbones that make it possible to freely reach every town, in order to serve the entire province of Leonessa quickly and efficiently.”

The outlined works will serve as a foundation for the further development of Mynet’s fiber optic network in Cologne, starting with the expansion of the network made up of “smart” poles and access points aimed at transforming the Brescian town into a true smart city. Within the same framework, all local production and hospitality businesses will also be connected via fiber optic links. These businesses may request a dedicated design for their FTTH connection to be included in the project’s first implementation phase.
